A Week of Hoobslessness

This is actually kind of old but I wrote it before all the unpleasantness of the last couple of weeks so I thought I'd post it to lighten the mood. Hairball went to Conneticut from Februrary 5-11 for a funeral and so I was left alone and bored, so I wrote about what I did. I put it under a cut because of the length but it's funny and has a couple pictures so enjoy!
This is what I do when I have to spend a week without Hoobs:
· I discovered a new hero. I have this friend Annie that used to be an RA but she graduated last year. Now she goes to grad school and works at the desk on weekends. So I usually see her at the end of my shift and I stick around and talk for an hour or two usually. Last time she was telling me about her 21st birthday trip that she spent in Las Vegas and Reno. I cannot divulge any details on LJ, but lets just say she is now my hero.
· I became and M&M.

· I actually listened to people commenting on my door art. On my door to my door room I have a massive collage of random stuff from various places. People often comment as they walk by but I rarely listen. This week my two favorite comments were about my how crazy are you meter and the breath-stealing picture. The How Crazy are You meter is something that I got from blogography a year ago and posted on my door. A 1 is sane and a 10 is Pat Robertson. Some girls walked by and one asked the other very loudly “Who’s Pat Robertson?” I found this very funny and sad; because this isn’t the first time it’s happened. The Breath Stealing picture is one of my favorite pieces by Mayra Boyle. It’s based on the old wives tale that cats steal baby’s breath while their sleeping, only in Mayra’s version it’s an adult man. This time a large group of people came by my door and asked each other what its about and one girl mentioned the old wives tale and the rest of them didn’t believe her so this started a large argument that lasted a minute or two outside my door than continued on down the hall way.
· I was sick. for a couple of days I was so sick I could only keep down jello and suck on crackers.
· I played on Youtube, a lot.
· I played on Amazon.com. The wishlist feature is amazing and an excellent time waster.
· I shot frogs: http://crazyfrog.yourebustingmyballs.com/shoot_the_crazy_frog_mini_game/index.asp?s=beef&q=ringtones This is very addicting.
· I browsed online galleries. Mostly I was looking for updates by Jeff Thomas on azuzephre.net and Mayra Boyle at any of her pages.
· I got reacquainted with Dave: I was mildly obsessed with Blogography for almost two years but then mysteriously for some unknown reason (translation: dial-up connection) I stopped reading it months ago. I decided it was time to catch up.
· I tried to buy ringtones. Just another reason to add to the “why my phone sucks” list.
· I started playing the coke rewards game again. 2284 more cokes and I could get this camera. http://mcr.us.icoke.com/getRewardDetail.do?rewardId=3391 The scary part is I drink enough coke this is an actual possibility.
· I worked on perfecting Broken Radio. After Flyboy showed me Pandora.com, I created several radio stations on it and I have been working on making the perfect “me” radio station- diverse and weird.
· I juggled jello. Because I was sick I had all these individual jello cups sitting around and I haven’t juggled in awhile, mainly from a lack of decent toys. I cannot buy new toys because Clippers has gone out of business, so I have been looking for alternatives. I discovered that jello cups are almost perfect. They are just the right size and almost the right weight and the jiggling when you catch them is pretty awesome.
· I discovered Winter Candy Apple Moisturizing Antibacterial soap by bath and body works. Our RA stockpile soaps and lotions from bath and body works to stock our dorm bathrooms with because she loves us. And this week she put out three bottles of this stuff and I have fallen completely in love with it. I’m not as in love with the lotion for some reason. The its like a little bottle of orgasms and the best part is I’m not allergic to it. The down side is that it is a seasonal product so I will have to wait till next Christmas season before there is anymore.
· I cleaned the fridge. And by cleaned the fridge I mean I took everything out of it, defrosted it, tossed all the stuff that had gone bad, took the multipurpose cleaner and cleaned it with a scrub brush, put everything back neatly and put an open box of baking soda in it. The worst part, it still smells.
· I went to the mall. I needed shoes very badly, so after a little convincing from Martini I went and I bought these:

· I met a guy. Calm down its not what you think! On my way back from the bus stop I met this guy:
He was decorating the brickwork on campus with chalk. I asked him if I could take his picture he said yes and then asked me if I wanted to join him. I said no because I was in a hurry (I had to go get ready for work). As I was walking away I was thinking to myself “you know I should have stayed and helped him it looks like fun” and was interrupted by my internal voice of reason “No you idiot! We do not hang around with strange men in the middle of the night coloring sidewalks with chalk when we don’t know them and we are by ourselves are you kidding me!” That’s kind of what its like to live in my head for those of you that were interested.
May Hoobs never leave me alone to my own devises for a whole week ever again.
