Because of stuff and things, I am even more behind than I was, but yesterday was Appreciate a Dragon Day and I refuse to let it slip by unacknowledged!
It hasn’t been that long since I did a top 10 list of my favorite dragons and there are no dramatic changes there, so today, I am doing a top 5 list of dragon related things in my life that just make sense:
1. While we have cats on display everywhere in our home, we have almost as many dragons hidden about.
2. My mother is extremely excited to make moving dragon dolls out of egg crates. Around the same time, a friend sent me a how to video on Instagram, my mother found a how to blog page on her news feed. They are very different dragon builds, but she hopes we will make ones that have the body of the video I was sent and the heads of the ones she found. Regardless, this means I need to start cutting and painting egg crates.
3. We have had a dragon statue out front of our house for years now. My mother has decided I need to paint it. Soon. She just wants a single color spray painted job, but the chances of it being dry out before she wants it done are slim.
4. You know how we lose fanworks? I have lost an ASMR video, years ago, when ASMR was just sort of hitting the top of its popularity, there was this creator whose name I never managed to write down, who only posted videos once or twice a year, but they had such excellent production value, he had a huge following. They were not typical role play ASMR. They were chilling horror stories from the POV of the creature who had captured you, who genuinely had no clue what it was doing to you. The most memorable of which was a giant kraken who had captured you the listener, a diver, who was fascinated with you, as it had never seen a human before, but was completely oblivious to the fact that you were drowning, though it was increasingly obvious to the listening, if you were paying attention. This same creator had the most perfect dragon voice ever and I never got to listen to their entire dragon video and can no longer find it. (This is not me asking for help finding it, as the genre of “dragon asmr” is so saturated, it’s practically a lost cause and considering 99.5% of it is, um, spicy in nature, I can’t knowingly ask you to do that to your YouTube algorithm. Also, there is the fear that my memory of it is better than the reality and I’d rather have the memory.)
5. One of my oldest plushies is a dragon.
